Host your next event with the friendly and attentive team at The Independent. From birthday parties and anniversary celebrations to corporate events, our dedicated staff will help customize every detail. From creative menu offerings to custom cocktails, we'll ensure that all your guests enjoy their time.

The Independent supports schools, universities, alumni groups and 501(c)(3) nonprofits with a donation of up to 10% on qualifying event bookings. Mention The Independent Gives Back Program when inquiring. Restrictions may apply.

The Marquee

Nestled in the front, hugged by floor-to-ceiling windows and lush red drapes is The Marquee cocktail area. You and your guests can order beverages with the bar while enjoying hors d’oeuvres placed around the tables. When the weather is nice, we open the windows for fresh air and a lovely breeze. This semi-private area is perfect for cocktail parties and happy hours.

The Gallery

Located in the back of the restaurant, The Gallery is our large event space perfect for seated and cocktail receptions. We have two TVs in the area that turn into mirrors when turned off and blend in beautifully with the decor. Our furniture can be combined for formal seating or we can remove the tables for passed hors d’oeuvres and food stations. The area is cozy and adaptable to accommodate different event styles.

Full Venue Buyout

The Marquee, Gallery and Main Bar combined make a great private event venue for large parties. Guests can move freely between the three spaces enjoying cocktails from our large full-service Main Bar with seating in the Gallery and food stations set up around the restaurant. We have TVs at the Main Bar and in the Gallery, plus AV capabilities that allow you to connect to our sound system; whether it’s a DJ for live music or a playlist. Vintage photos of Times Square and Midtown coupled with our classic cocktail program make events at The Independent feel like you’re celebrating in a different era.
